Had a pleasant visit. The staff were incredible and so is the dentist. A bit nervous visiting the dentist but they made me feel comfortable during the treatment.

Want straight teeth without the hassle of metal braces? Then Invisalign might be your answer. Our team here at Elevate Dental is experienced and certified as an Invisalign provider and we can help determine if this service is right for you.

Invisalign is the lesser invasive alternative to traditional braces. Using custom-fit plastic trays called aligners, your teeth will slowly adjust into alignment. Patients love them because they can be worn day and night, and removed for eating and teeth cleaning. It’s an easier way to achieve a more affordable and beautiful smile.

Benefits of Invisalign

Using Invisalign to straighten your teeth is more comfortable than other cosmetic dental procedures. And the result is more predictable because ClinCheck technology helps you see results before the work is done. This same technology shows how your teeth should be developing along the way, so if things begin to change, your treatment can be quickly re-adjusted, ensuring your desired results will be achieved. Here are some more benefits of Invisalign:

No brackets and wires to deal with
Clear trays that are less noticeable
Customised for a precise and comfortable fit
Ability to track progress and adjust if needed
Affordable
Removable so you can brush and floss
Medical-grade polyurethane resin will not scratch and cut gums
Along with the benefits of Invisalign, straight teeth come with their own set of benefits.
Straight teeth are easier to clean because food cannot hide between crooked teeth
Clearer speech
Eliminate bad breath due to hidden food particles and debris
Reduced risk of gum disease and other long-term dental problems
Easier care and hygiene help maintain improved oral health
Reduced risk of jaw problems due to an improper bite
Some clear aligners are sold online without the benefit of a dentist, but Invisalign treatment through a certified provider comes with many benefits besides straight teeth. For example, an experienced dentist can help you avoid problems like teeth moving in an unpredictable way and prevent problems that may arise during treatment like tooth decay. Here are some additional benefits of Invisalign treatment through a certified dentist:
Regular checkups ensure your teeth are moving the right way, so you get the results you deserve
Regular dental exams during Invisalign treatment help prevent cavities or offer early intervention before they get out of hand
A skilled dentist can detect bite and jaw problems and guide the path to correctly aligned teeth
Our dental professionals are experienced and highly skilled at creating beautiful smiles with 3D scans and Invisalign, so you get the results you desire

Are You a Candidate?

Invisalign is a viable option for teeth straightening as a cost-effective and less invasive treatment than traditional braces. There are a number of dental concerns that can be fixed with Invisalign, including:

  • Overbite
  • Crossbite
  • Underbite
  • Open bite
  • Gapped teeth
  • Crowded teeth

As you can see, Invisalign is appropriate for many different dental misalignment issues. An initial dental examination is the best way to start Invisalign. This exam and consultation will allow the dental professional to see if it is the best option for you. The dentist will also have a chance to see if there are any other problems that should be corrected before receiving your aligners, such as gum disease or tooth decay.

Not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign. Sometimes teeth are too crooked, a tooth may need to be removed or perhaps a gap is too large. No matter what the situation, an experienced dentist will be able to determine if braces are necessary, or if a small fix is needed. In many cases, once a problem is fixed, the patient can move ahead with Invisalign.

Getting Ready for Invisalign

After your initial exam, a 3D scan and photos will be taken of your teeth. The information will be sent to Invisalign’s ClinCheck, and the results will show us the path of treatment, how long treatment will take and what the results will look like. Once you are happy, a simple click on the computer begins the process and your first set of aligners will be manufactured. Here are the steps in order:

Dental exam with 3D scan and photos of your teeth

All info is sent to Invisalign and ClinCheck

We will receive a 3D mockup so you can see what it will look like, along with time and investment

When approved, we simply click and collect the trays in about 2 weeks

The Invisalign Process

When we receive your first set of aligners, we will do a quick consultation and ensure they fit securely. During this time, we will show you how to pop them in and out and how to care for them. Patients often receive trays for approximately 6 weeks worth of treatment, which is a convenient time to schedule a dental exam and to pick up your next set of trays. The exam will ensure that the movement of your teeth matches the ClinCheck models, so we know the treatment is working as planned. If not, adjustments can be quickly made.

The treatment and caring for your Invisalign trays are as easy as your daily oral hygiene practice. We will go over the details with you when you receive your first set of trays, but in general, this is what you can expect:

Z
Wear your aligners for 20-22 hours every day for best results
Z
Rinse your aligners under running water every time you remove them
Z
Gently and thoroughly brush your teeth according to your dentist’s instructions
Z
Rinse your mouth with recommended mouthwash
Z
Clean your aligners as instructed by your dental professional – this is imperative to help them stay clear of scratches and remain plaque-free

After Treatment Care

The initial assessment will determine how many aligners and time you will need to achieve your desired results. Once complete, patients are given retainers to wear to help the teeth “learn” to stay in place. These may be worn from 12 to 22 hours for anywhere from three to six months. Luckily, our team is very experienced with Invisalign and will be able to help guide you through this process, so your teeth stay straight, and your smile remains beautiful.
