Hi, Dr James here, and I’m one of the principal dentists here at Elevate Dental Richmond and Hawthorn.
Yesterday. I spoke with Hannah from Camberwell during a new patient consultation. She confessed to me that she’s always been particularly anxious coming to the dentist and had heard of having happy gas treatment. She asked about the cost involved, so I thought I’d share this video with you, just in case you also have dental anxiety, and are considering this option.
Happy or laughing gas is also known as nitrous oxide dentistry.
At Elevate Dental, we particularly enjoy helping anxious patients achieve good dental health in a reassuring way that overcomes the fears of having treatment done. Besides offering noise-cancelling headphones and your personal choice of music or movies to zone out to, we also offer nitrous oxide treatment for patients who are anxious. Nitrous oxide gas, or affectionately known as happy gas or laughing gas, is a safe and very effective type of sedation.
How much does happy gas cost?
So, how much does happy gas cost when visiting the dentist? Depending on the type of treatment involved, happy gas treatment is approximately $70. With this treatment, it’s safe for virtually all patients and all ages. There are analgesic properties, that is you feel less pain and discomfort to the point where many procedures can be completed with minimal discomfort without having additional anesthetic. You will feel entirely relaxed in as little as two minutes and once treatment is completed, the effects wear off completely soon after. So many of my patients have found such a profound impact that they are now able to return for regular appointments without anxiety and fears.
So you can see, nitrous oxide dentistry, or happy gas, is a great and cost effective way to help you alleviate dental fear and anxiety, so you can have the dental procedure and maintenance required to give you long term optimal dental health.
If it has been a while since you have had a dental check-up, or you have been putting off seeing a dentist because of dental anxiety, we would love to look after you. Here at Elevate Dental, we focus on looking after anxious patients.
