What we can treat with invisalign

Overbite

Upper front teeth overlap lower teeth. Invisalign shifts teeth to reduce the overlap.

Underbite

Lower teeth sit in front of upper teeth. Invisalign repositions teeth for better alignment.

Openbite

Upper and lower teeth don’t touch when the mouth is closed. Invisalign helps move teeth vertically to close the gap.

Crossbite

Some upper teeth bite inside the lower teeth. Invisalign aligns these teeth to improve the bite.

Crowded teeth

Teeth overlap due to lack of space. Invisalign creates room by gradually spacing teeth out.

Spaced teeth

Extra space between teeth.
Invisalign closes the gaps for a more even look.

Generally straight

You like your smile - but want small adjustments. Invisalign aligns mildly crooked teeth for a more uniform smile.

Benefits of Invisalign

Nearly Invisible

Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible. This means you can always smile with confidence, as compared to traditional braces where the wires and metal brackets can be seen.

Removable

Invisalign aligners are made with SmartTrack flexible material, making it super easy to remove and put on, unlike braces which are fixed. Now,you can enjoy your  favourite food any time you want.

Less Pain

SmartStage and Smart Force Technologies ensure there will only be gradual and gentle teeth movement throughout your treatment, as compared to braces which may irritate and cause pain.

"Alright, I'm in. How does this work?"

Every plan is designed around you: your features, your timeline and your budget. Here's what happens, step by step.

Is the Invisalign Procedure Painful?

Straight answer: it's more tight than sore.

When you change to a new set of aligners, expect a firm, pressing feeling for the first day or two. That's the aligners doing their job, moving your teeth a little at a time, and it eases as your teeth settle into position

.Most people find it very manageable and get on with their day as normal.

If anything feels more than tightness, we're a phone call away, and your dentist will talk you through what to expect before you start.

What’s the Difference Between Invisalign and Other Aligners?

Clear aligners aren't all the same. Here's why we work with Invisalign:

Experience Matters: Invisalign is the original clear aligner system, with over 20 years of research and millions of smiles transformed. This translates to a track record of success and a deep understanding of tooth movement.

Innovation Drives Results: Invisalign utilises patented SmartTrack® material in their aligners. This material is known for being comfortable, effective, and precise, potentially leading to faster treatment times and a more predictable outcome.

A plan you can see before you start. ClinCheck technology lets you review a 3D simulation of how your teeth could move, stage by stage, so you understand the plan before you start, and it's designed around your features, not just your teeth.

Experienced hands. As a Diamond+ Invisalign Provider, Invisalign is a core focus at Elevate. Your dentist plans, monitors and adjusts your treatment personally, from your first consultation through to retainers.

Value, not just price. Some aligner options cost less upfront. What you're weighing against that is the planning, the monitoring and the practitioner oversight, which is where problems get caught early.

Ultimately, the choice is yours. Understanding the differences means you can decide with your eyes open. That's exactly what your consultation is for.

What is the teeth straightening treatment process?

When your first set of aligners arrives, we book you in for a fitting. Your dentist checks they sit properly, shows you how to pop them in and out, and walks you through looking after them. You'll leave knowing exactly what to do.

From there, you'll usually take home about six weeks of aligners at a time. Each pick-up doubles as a check-in, where we compare how your teeth are moving against your ClinCheck plan. If they're tracking, you carry on. If something needs adjusting, we catch it early and adjust the plan.

Aligner care fits around your normal routine. We'll go through it properly at your fitting, but here's the short version:

  • Wear your aligners around 22 hours a day. Treatment tracks to plan when they're in, and drifts when they're out.
  • Rinse them under water every time you take them out.
  • Brush and floss as your dentist advises before they go back in.
  • Clean your aligners as instructed. It keeps them clear and free of plaque, and stops scratches that make them more visible.

I'm anxious about visiting the dentist - can you help?

Yes, and please tell us. Plenty of people put off the dentist for years and then feel awkward about it; there's no judgement here, and it doesn't change how we treat you. We'll listen to what worries you, explain everything before we do it, and go at your pace, with a stop signal so you're always in control.

For most people, that plus the Netflix, headphones and a calm, unhurried appointment is enough. If you'd like more support, we have two options:

  • Happy gas (nitrous oxide), breathed through a small nose piece during your appointment. It takes the edge off within a few minutes and wears off just as quickly, so you can drive home afterwards.
  • Oral sedation, a tablet taken before your appointment that leaves you relaxed and drowsy. You'll need someone to bring you and take you home.
  • Lots of distractions! Netflix on the ceiling, noise-cancelling headphones, stress balls and a team that will happily talk about anything except teeth.

Both start with a conversation with your dentist about your health history and what suits you, so you can choose what feels right.

How long will I need to wear my Invisalign clear aligners?

Most Invisalign treatments take between 5 and 9 months.

The rate at which Invisalign can shift teeth is (pleasantly!) surprising to many patients. Fast teeth alignment with Invisalign is due to extremely accurate predictions of 3D scanning and printing as well as the high-quality tray, which ensure efficient tooth movements.

The total time will ultimately come down to several things, including:

  • How far do the teeth need to move?
  • How consistent are you with wearing your Invisalign aligners for the recommended 22 hours a day

What kind of payment options do you have?

We accept cash, EFTPOS and all major credit cards, including Amex, and we process health fund claims on the spot through HICAPS, so you only pay the gap.

For larger treatments, payment plans are available, including interest-free options and finance from around $45 a week. Our front office team will walk you through what suits your treatment and budget, and there's no obligation to decide on the day.

Does Invisalign hurt?

More tight than sore. When you change to a new set of aligners, expect a firm, pressing feeling for the first day or two. That's the aligners moving your teeth a little at a time, and it eases as your teeth settle. Most people find it very manageable. If anything ever feels like more than tightness, call us and we'll take a look.

How much does Invisalign in Melbourne cost?

At Elevate, most Invisalign treatments fall between $5k and $10k, depending on how far your teeth need to move and what you'd like to change. That covers everything from your consultation and scans through to your retainers, with no add-ons along the way.

Payment plans are available to suit your timeframe and budget, including interest-free options and finance from around $45 a week, and we process health fund claims on the spot.

Your dentist confirms your exact investment in writing at your consultation. Figures here are a general guide only.

Is Invisalign covered by Medicare?

No.

Medicare doesn't cover Invisalign or other orthodontic treatment for adults. Some private health extras policies include orthodontic cover, which can contribute towards the cost, though waiting periods and annual or lifetime limits usually apply, so it's worth checking your policy or asking your fund what your rebate would be. We can process any eligible claim on the spot.

The rest is paid privately, and payment plans are available for that, including interest-free options and finance from around $45 a week. Text or call us and we'll talk you through what suits your situation.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Most Invisalign treatments at Elevate take 7 to 9 months, depending on how far your teeth need to move and what you'd like to change. Some simpler cases are shorter; more complex movement can take longer. Your dentist will give you an estimate with your ClinCheck plan, and the biggest factor in staying on schedule is wearing your aligners around 22 hours a day. Retainers follow at the end to hold everything in place.

Is Invisalign better than traditional braces?

There are distinct differences between Invisalign and traditional braces in terms of what oral issues they address. It also depends on what your needs are.In general, Invisalign is better suited for adults that want a non-invasive, more comfortable teeth straightening solution. Conventional braces, while more uncomfortable, are used to correct severe crookedness in the teeth, an issue commonly found in kids or teens.Come down for a free Invisalign consultation here at Elevate Dental to find out which solution would be a better fit for your teeth. Our team of experienced orthodontists will be able to recommend a personalised treatment for you once they’ve had a look!

Will Invisalign affect what I can eat?

Absolutely not! Because the Invisalign clear aligners are completely removable, you’ll be able to take them off before meals (or snacks!). You’ll be able to continue enjoying all of your favourite foods without worrying about damaging the aligners or having to chew weirdly.Keep in mind that you’ll have to pop those aligners back in once you’re done eating. It’s essential that you wear them for the recommended 22 hours each day for the best results. Practicing good oral hygiene, like brushing and flossing your teeth before placing them back on, will help keep your treatment on track.

What's the difference between Invisalign and other aligners?

The main difference between Invisalign treatment and other teeth straightening treatments that you can order online is that Invisalign is dentist approved and supervised. Other clear aligners are often manufactured overseas, less durable, and may break easily as they are made from plastic.Invisalign is carefully designed and created to match your exact requirements. Other clear aligners are not prescribed by a dentist and may be painful, damaging, and may not provide the best outcome.

How do I maintain my straight teeth after Invisalign?

The initial assessment will determine how many aligners and how much time you will need to achieve your desired results. Once complete, patients are given retainers to wear to help the teeth “learn” to stay in place. For effective teeth straightening treatment, your clear aligner retainers may be worn between 12 to 22 hours for anywhere from three to six months. Our experienced team is very familiar with Invisalign and will guide you throughout the entire length of the treatment and beyond, ensuring that your teeth stay straight and your smile remains beautiful.

How long do the results last?

The results from teeth whitening can last anywhere from a few months to several years depending on the eating, drinking, and oral hygiene habits of the patient.

In general, the results of professional in-office treatments tend to last longer than at-home treatments. Maintaining a strict brushing and flossing routine while cutting back on “staining” food and drink go a long way towards preserving your smile and mitigating stains and discolouration.

How can I maintain my results?

Achieving the smile you’ve always wanted is more affordable than you may think. We provide transparent Invisalign treatment pricing and flexible payment options to give you the confidence that Elevate Dental is the right choice for your dental needs.
Invisaliga

To get the best results, we recommend that whitening patients cutting back on any “staining” food or drink and maintain a strict oral hygiene routine. Other steps to maintain a whiter, brighter smile include:

  • Brush teeth twice a day
