Qualified and Experienced Cosmetic Dentists

Cosmetic dentistry can address discolouration, chips, gaps and alignment — often with less intervention than people expect. The result depends less on the technique than on the planning behind it.

At Elevate Dental, every treatment starts with a proper examination, photographs and a 3D scan, followed by a written plan with options and costs.

As a Diamond+ Invisalign Provider and 2025 Australian Small Business Champion, we bring the same standard of care to every veneer, bonding and whitening treatment.

How much do veneers cost in Richmond?

It depends on the material and how many teeth we're treating. As a guide, composite veneers typically start from $500per tooth, while porcelain veneers generally start from $1800 per tooth.

The difference reflects how they're made: composite is sculpted directly onto your tooth in a single visit and can be repaired easily, while porcelain is custom-crafted in a laboratory, is more resistant to staining, and generally lasts longer, often 10–15 years with good care, compared with 4–8 years for composite.

Neither is simply "better". The right choice depends on your teeth, your goals, your timeframe and your budget, and sometimes a combination works best. Come in for your complimentary consultation and we'll walk you through every option with a written plan and itemised costs, so you can decide with everything in front of you.

I'm anxious about visiting the dentist - can you help?

Yes, and please tell us. Plenty of people put off the dentist for years and then feel awkward about it; there's no judgement here, and it doesn't change how we treat you. We'll listen to what worries you, explain everything before we do it, and go at your pace, with a stop signal so you're always in control.

For most people, that plus the Netflix, headphones and a calm, unhurried appointment is enough. If you'd like more support, we have two options:

  • Happy gas (nitrous oxide), breathed through a small nose piece during your appointment. It takes the edge off within a few minutes and wears off just as quickly, so you can drive home afterwards.
  • Oral sedation, a tablet taken before your appointment that leaves you relaxed and drowsy. You'll need someone to bring you and take you home.
  • Lots of distractions! Netflix on the ceiling, noise-cancelling headphones, stress balls and a team that will happily talk about anything except teeth.

Both start with a conversation with your dentist about your health history and what suits you, so you can choose what feels right.

How long will I need to wear my Invisalign clear aligners?

Most Invisalign treatments take between 5 and 9 months.

The rate at which Invisalign can shift teeth is (pleasantly!) surprising to many patients. Fast teeth alignment with Invisalign is due to extremely accurate predictions of 3D scanning and printing as well as the high-quality tray, which ensure efficient tooth movements.

The total time will ultimately come down to several things, including:

  • How far do the teeth need to move?
  • How consistent are you with wearing your Invisalign aligners for the recommended 22 hours a day

What is the difference between veneers and dental bonding?

Bonding uses tooth-coloured resin applied directly to your tooth in a single visit — ideal for smaller repairs. Veneers are custom-made shells that cover the front surface and generally last longer. Both have their place, and often there's more than one path to the result you want. Come in and we'll guide you through the options against your goals, your timeline and your budget.

What kind of payment options do you have?

We accept cash, EFTPOS and all major credit cards, including Amex, and we process health fund claims on the spot through HICAPS, so you only pay the gap.

For larger treatments, payment plans are available, including interest-free options and finance from around $45 a week. Our front office team will walk you through what suits your treatment and budget, and there's no obligation to decide on the day.

Does Invisalign hurt?

More tight than sore. When you change to a new set of aligners, expect a firm, pressing feeling for the first day or two. That's the aligners moving your teeth a little at a time, and it eases as your teeth settle. Most people find it very manageable. If anything ever feels like more than tightness, call us and we'll take a look.

Does teeth whitening damage your teeth?

Professionally supervised whitening, used as directed, is considered safe — some people notice temporary sensitivity, which is normal. There's more than one way to whiten, too: in-chair Zoom or a take-home kit we customise for you. Come in and we'll assess your teeth and guide you to the option that suits your sensitivity and your timeline.

How much does Invisalign in Melbourne cost?

At Elevate, most Invisalign treatments fall between $5k and $10k, depending on how far your teeth need to move and what you'd like to change. That covers everything from your consultation and scans through to your retainers, with no add-ons along the way.

Your dentist confirms your exact investment in writing at your consultation. Figures here are a general guide only.

How long does cosmetic dental treatment take?

It varies with the treatment: bonding can be finished in a single visit, veneers usually take two to three, and Invisalign typically takes several months. There are usually options to suit different timeframes, whether you have a date to work toward or no rush at all. At your consultation, we'll map out what's realistic for you and build the plan around it.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Most Invisalign treatments at Elevate take 7 to 9 months, depending on how far your teeth need to move and what you'd like to change. Some simpler cases are shorter; more complex movement can take longer. Your dentist will give you an estimate with your ClinCheck plan, and the biggest factor in staying on schedule is wearing your aligners around 22 hours a day. Retainers follow at the end to hold everything in place.

Will my results look natural?

That's the goal, always. Every treatment is planned tooth by tooth, with shape and shade matched to your face and your preferences — and you'll see and approve the plan before we begin. If you're weighing up what would suit you, come in: it's exactly what the complimentary consultation is for.

Is Invisalign better than traditional braces?

There are distinct differences between Invisalign and traditional braces in terms of what oral issues they address. It also depends on what your needs are.In general, Invisalign is better suited for adults that want a non-invasive, more comfortable teeth straightening solution. Conventional braces, while more uncomfortable, are used to correct severe crookedness in the teeth, an issue commonly found in kids or teens.Come down for a free Invisalign consultation here at Elevate Dental to find out which solution would be a better fit for your teeth. Our team of experienced orthodontists will be able to recommend a personalised treatment for you once they’ve had a look!

Do you offer payment plans for cosmetic dentistry?

Yes — and there are more options than most people expect. Flexible payment plans, on-the-spot health fund claims, and zero-deposit options, structured to fit your timeframe and your budget. Come in, and we'll walk you through what's available so you can choose what works for you.

Will Invisalign affect what I can eat?

Absolutely not! Because the Invisalign clear aligners are completely removable, you’ll be able to take them off before meals (or snacks!). You’ll be able to continue enjoying all of your favourite foods without worrying about damaging the aligners or having to chew weirdly.Keep in mind that you’ll have to pop those aligners back in once you’re done eating. It’s essential that you wear them for the recommended 22 hours each day for the best results. Practicing good oral hygiene, like brushing and flossing your teeth before placing them back on, will help keep your treatment on track.

What's the difference between Invisalign and other aligners?

The main difference between Invisalign treatment and other teeth straightening treatments that you can order online is that Invisalign is dentist approved and supervised. Other clear aligners are often manufactured overseas, less durable, and may break easily as they are made from plastic.Invisalign is carefully designed and created to match your exact requirements. Other clear aligners are not prescribed by a dentist and may be painful, damaging, and may not provide the best outcome.

How do I maintain my straight teeth after Invisalign?

The initial assessment will determine how many aligners and how much time you will need to achieve your desired results. Once complete, patients are given retainers to wear to help the teeth “learn” to stay in place. For effective teeth straightening treatment, your clear aligner retainers may be worn between 12 to 22 hours for anywhere from three to six months. Our experienced team is very familiar with Invisalign and will guide you throughout the entire length of the treatment and beyond, ensuring that your teeth stay straight and your smile remains beautiful.

Can I discuss cosmetic dentistry goals during a dental check-up?

Absolutely. We encourage our patients to ask our friendly and experienced staff any questions about oral health or cosmetic dentistry needs during dental check-ups. Suppose you’re interested in anything from teeth whitening to teeth alignment treatments like Invisalign. In that case, discussing your goals with the dentist can get the wheels rolling on developing a personalised plan that considers your schedule, needs and budget.

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is a dental treatment intended to give you a white, cleaner smile. It uses safe and effective whitening gels with ingredients like hydrogen peroxide to bleach your teeth. The whitening process can be done either at home or in our office (which one you use will depend on your whitening goals). During your initial exam, one of our dental professionals will help you decide upon the best shade of white for your teeth and suggest a plan to help you get there using safe and effective methods.

Teeth can become discoloured for a range of reasons, such as medications, staining from foods, trauma to the teeth, or intrinsic health conditions. Not all types of discolouration can be fixed with a tooth whitening treatment, but a dental exam and evaluation from one of our professional dentists can determine if the teeth whitening procedure is right for you — and which one of the teeth whitening options would be best suited for your needs.

Types of teeth discolouration

Teeth can become discoloured for a range of reasons, such as medications, staining from foods or trauma to the teeth. Not all types of discolouration can be fixed with a tooth whitening treatment, but a dental exam and evaluation will allow our team of professionals to determine if the procedure is right for you.

  • Extrinsic stains are those that form on the outside of the teeth. This type of staining is mostly due to foods and beverages like coffee, tea, red wine, grape juice and even curries. Other practices like smoking can cause teeth to stain, and quite often teeth discolor as we age. These are the most common discoloration issues that teeth whitening can solve.
  • Intrinsic stains form from the inside of teeth. These are often due to medications, tooth decay or trauma to the teeth. While the standard tooth whitening process will usually not work on these types of stains, there are other options for patients to whiten up their smile such as dental veneers or bonding.

Is teeth whitening safe?

In-office whitening sessions and at-home whitening kits that are prescribed by a licensed dentist are much safer than over-the-counter whitening kits. Those store-bought kits can be unnecessarily harsh and aren’t regulated to the same level of scrutiny as professional-grade whitening kits.

Elevate Dental’s team of licensed dental professionals have the training and expertise required to diagnose any oral health issues that could impact whitening results and adjust treatment recommendations to your personal circumstances.

No matter whether you opt for in-chair teeth whitening or an at-home kit, it’s always necessary to consult a professional dentist. They can evaluate your oral health, clean your teeth thoroughly, and check for any oral problems that may impact the whitening treatment. Then, they can perform the procedure for you or provide you with a customised at-home whitening kit.

How long do the results last?

The results from teeth whitening can last anywhere from a few months to several years depending on the eating, drinking, and oral hygiene habits of the patient.

In general, the results of professional in-office treatments tend to last longer than at-home treatments. Maintaining a strict brushing and flossing routine while cutting back on “staining” food and drink go a long way towards preserving your smile and mitigating stains and discolouration.

Will teeth whitening work on all stains?

Teeth whitening treatments can aid the removal of stains caused by coffee, tea, or smoking — and other extrinsic causes of stains. However, teeth whitening may not work on stains caused by medications or intrinsic discolouration (stains that occur inside the tooth)!

During your initial whitening consultation, our dentists will carefully examine your teeth to determine the cause of stains and prescribe the most appropriate treatment for them.

Can I eat immediately after having my teeth whitened?

We recommend avoiding any food or drinks that can stain your teeth such as coffee, tea, or red wine for at least 24-hours after having your teeth whitened. This grace period ensures that the whitening agents can run their course and that your teeth stay white for as long as possible.
