What we can treat with invisalign

Overbite

Upper front teeth overlap lower teeth. Invisalign shifts teeth to reduce the overlap.

Underbite

Lower teeth sit in front of upper teeth. Invisalign repositions teeth for better alignment.

Openbite

Upper and lower teeth don’t touch when the mouth is closed. Invisalign helps move teeth vertically to close the gap.

Crossbite

Some upper teeth bite inside the lower teeth. Invisalign aligns these teeth to improve the bite.

Crowded teeth

Teeth overlap due to lack of space. Invisalign creates room by gradually spacing teeth out.

Spaced teeth

Extra space between teeth.
Invisalign closes the gaps for a more even look.

Generally straight

You like your smile - but want small adjustments. Invisalign aligns mildly crooked teeth for a more uniform smile.

Benefits of Invisalign

Nearly Invisible

Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible. This means you can always smile with confidence, as compared to traditional braces where the wires and metal brackets can be seen.

Removable

Invisalign aligners are made with SmartTrack flexible material, making it super easy to remove and put on, unlike braces which are fixed. Now,you can enjoy your  favourite food any time you want.

Less Pain

SmartStage and Smart Force Technologies ensure there will only be gradual and gentle teeth movement throughout your treatment, as compared to braces which may irritate and cause pain.

"Alright, I'm in - how does this work?"

We don’t just treat teeth – we design smiles based on your face, crafting a personalised plan that complements your unique features, timeline, and budget.

What’s the Difference Between Invisalign and Other Aligners?

Straightening your smile with clear aligners is an exciting prospect, but with so many options available, you might wonder: is Invisalign different? The answer is yes, and here’s why:

Experience Matters: Invisalign is the original clear aligner system, with over 20 years of research and millions of smiles transformed. This translates to a track record of success and a deep understanding of tooth movement.

Innovation Drives Results: Invisalign utilises patented SmartTrack® material in their aligners. This material is known for being comfortable, effective, and precise, potentially leading to faster treatment times and a more predictable outcome.

A Smile Designed for You: Invisalign goes beyond just straightening teeth. Their Clincheck® technology allows you to see a virtual simulation of your entire treatment plan, ensuring your new smile complements your unique facial features.

Expertise at Every Step: When you choose Invisalign, you’re not just getting aligners – you’re partnering with a team of experienced Invisalign providers. They’ll guide you through every step of the process, from initial consultation to final results.

Considering Cost: While some aligner options may seem cheaper upfront, remember the value you receive with Invisalign. The experience, innovation, and predictability can lead to a smoother journey and potentially fewer complications, saving you time and money in the long run.

Ultimately, the choice is yours. But by understanding the key differences between Invisalign and other aligners, you can make an informed decision about achieving the confident smile you deserve.

Frequently asked questions

Our trusted dentists are here to help you with your individual needs.
Explore our FAQs below or contact us if you have a specific question.

What is the teeth straightening treatment process?

When we receive your first set of Invisalign aligners, we will do a quick consultation and ensure they fit securely. During this time, we will show you how to pop them in and out and how to care for them.

Patients often receive trays for approximately 6 weeks’ worth of treatment, which is a convenient time to schedule a dental exam and to pickup your next set of trays. The exam will ensure that the movement of your teeth matches the ClinCheck models, so we know the treatment is working as planned. If not, adjustments can be quickly made.

The treatment and care for your Invisalign trays are as easy as your daily dental routine. We will go over the details with you when you receive your first set of trays, but in general, this is what you can expect:

  • Wear your Invisalign aligner for 20-22 hours every day for the best results
  • Rinse your Invisalign under running water every time you remove them
  • Gently and thoroughly brush your teeth according to your dentists’ instructions
  • Rinse your mouth with recommended mouthwash
  • Clean your Ivisalign as instructed by your dental professional – this is imperative to help them stay clear of scratches and remain plaque-free

How long will I need to wear my Invisalign clear aligners?

Most Invisalign treatments take between 5 and 9 months.

The rate at which Invisalign can shift teeth is (pleasantly!) surprising to many patients. Fast teeth alignment with Invisalign is due to extremely accurate predictions of 3D scanning and printing as well as the high-quality tray, which ensure efficient tooth movements.

The total time will ultimately come down to several things, including:

  • How far do the teeth need to move?
  • How consistent are you with wearing your Invisalign aligners for the recommended 22 hours a day?

Does Invisalign hurt?

You won’t need to feel pain to gain straighter teeth with Invisalign. The virtually invisible aligners are much more comfortable to wear than conventional metal braces.

That said, you may feel some initial discomfort or tightness in your teeth when putting aligners for the first time. This sensation is normal and is the result of your teeth being gradually shifted to new positions. As you continue to wear them, this feeling will subside as your teeth become more congruent to the aligners.

How much does Invisalign in Melbourne cost?

Is Invisalign covered by Medicare?

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to pay for Invisalign with Medicare. As with most orthodontic treatments, you’ll need to either have private insurance that can cover the Invisalign costs or pay for it with your own funds. If the cost of treatment is a barrier for you, we offer convenient and flexible payment plans, such as interest-free plans to help make Invisalign more affordable for you. Why is there a price difference when choosing monthly payments?

At Elevate Dental Richmond, we offer flexible monthly payment options to suit your individual needs and budget. These options include Afterpay, Klarna, and Zip Money, each of which has its own unique payment terms and conditions. The price difference reflects the payment provider's terms, such as fees or interest rates, which may apply depending on the provider and plan you choose. We aim to make quality dental care accessible and strive to provide transparency about all costs associated with these payment plans. If you'd like assistance choosing the right option for you, our team is happy to help explain the details and guide you toward the most suitable plan for your needs.

Is Invisalign better than traditional braces?

There are distinct differences between Invisalign and traditional braces in terms of what oral issues they address. It also depends on what your needs are.In general, Invisalign is better suited for adults that want a non-invasive, more comfortable teeth straightening solution. Conventional braces, while more uncomfortable, are used to correct severe crookedness in the teeth, an issue commonly found in kids or teens.Come down for a free Invisalign consultation here at Elevate Dental to find out which solution would be a better fit for your teeth. Our team of experienced orthodontists will be able to recommend a personalised treatment for you once they’ve had a look!

Will Invisalign affect what I can eat?

Absolutely not! Because the Invisalign clear aligners are completely removable, you’ll be able to take them off before meals (or snacks!). You’ll be able to continue enjoying all of your favourite foods without worrying about damaging the aligners or having to chew weirdly.Keep in mind that you’ll have to pop those aligners back in once you’re done eating. It’s essential that you wear them for the recommended 22 hours each day for the best results. Practicing good oral hygiene, like brushing and flossing your teeth before placing them back on, will help keep your treatment on track.

What's the difference between Invisalign and other aligners?

The main difference between Invisalign treatment and other teeth straightening treatments that you can order online is that Invisalign is dentist approved and supervised. Other clear aligners are often manufactured overseas, less durable, and may break easily as they are made from plastic.Invisalign is carefully designed and created to match your exact requirements. Other clear aligners are not prescribed by a dentist and may be painful, damaging, and may not provide the best outcome.

How do I maintain my straight teeth after Invisalign?

The initial assessment will determine how many aligners and how much time you will need to achieve your desired results. Once complete, patients are given retainers to wear to help the teeth “learn” to stay in place. For effective teeth straightening treatment, your clear aligner retainers may be worn between 12 to 22 hours for anywhere from three to six months. Our experienced team is very familiar with Invisalign and will guide you throughout the entire length of the treatment and beyond, ensuring that your teeth stay straight and your smile remains beautiful.
